The
demonstrations of Withrow spirit by large cross-sections of alumni assembled at
the different events during the Centennial Weekend Celebration was
inspirational and overwhelming. It was truly historic and worthy of a
Centennial celebration. Here are some of
the highlights:
On Wednesday
evening, the weekend celebration was kick-started with an Orange Out on
Fountain Square, including a video board presentation and the reading of
proclamations honoring Withrow’s 100 years of educating youth.

Orange Out on Fountain Square was well attended by enthusiastic alums and friends of Withrow High School. |

Friday
was the First Annual Major McNeil Scholarship Fund Golf Outing, which was a
perfect day and raised money for the scholarship fund.

The Golf Outing not only was a great way to earn funds for the Major McNeil Scholarship Fund but a chance for high school acquaintances to be rekindled. |
Mid-day on Saturday was Withrow vs. Woodward in a Centennial Crosstown Basketball Showdown, which filled the gym with supporters for both teams.

Saturday
evening the Withrow Centennial Gala
and After Party brought over 800 alumni together from 53 different classes,
including the Gala Queen from the class of 1944. The evening included jazz and
spiritual music performances by alums, presentations and awards.

Sunday
morning found alums at a Centennial Brunch Around the Tower, which included
comprehensive school tours. A great wrap-up of a historic weekend of
celebrations.
