Around Town: Wyoming Fun Run 2019

Photos by Missy Marty

The Wyoming School Foundation’s Annual Fun Run was held on Saturday, March 9. With the promise of spring, runners and walkers of all ages came together to support the Wyoming City Schools.

In the spirit of this family-friendly event, the race had a new distance of 2.5K for every participant. This allowed families to run or walk together and cheer on each other and their friends.
The male and female race winners from each grade level or age group received their medals with big smiles and to lots of applause. Almost $4,000 was raised to support the Wyoming City Schools, and thanks to all who participated or came down to watch the fun and support the cause.
Watch for details and updates about next year’s WSF Fun Run!

Congratulations to the top five finishers all from Wyoming High School after the race (from left to right): Cole Hutchins (senior – third place overall), Jack Schwartz (senior – first place overall), Joshua Parker (junior – second place overall), Bryce Ford (senior – fourth place overall), and Henry Chemero (freshman – fifth place overall).

The Berkemeyer family even brought the puppy for the Fun Run.

Wyoming’s finest were there all morning to lead the runners and keep participants safe – thank you!

Ready, set, go!

Jack Schwartz and Joshua Parker were goofy role models to a cute little girl at the start line.

These girls brought some needed energy and warmth to the chilly start of the race!
