Around Town: Light Up Wyoming 2018

Light Up Wyoming: as the community lights up, the sun goes down, and the party lasts for hours in both the village and the Civic Center with carriage rides, ice sculptures, visits with Santa, live holiday music, and, of course, cookies (and beer and wine thanks to the Civic Center’s new liquor license). The cold was present this year – and left its own mark on the event for almost a week as the ice sculpture stayed frozen in time on the Village Green for all to see and touch.
A huge thank you to JWC and the City of Wyoming for organizing and successfully hosting another great event! Enjoy the photos!

The Luebbe kids enjoyed the cold weather and the ice sculptures.

The Wyoming High School Brass Choir did an amazing job performing at the Civic Center.

Cookies, hot chocolate, punch, and smiles were all on the menu at the Civic Center.

Gabe and Eva volunteered at the punch table.

Even the youngest community members helped set up luminaries.

The Wyoming High School Orchestra wowed the audience with their upbeat holiday selections.

Daughter and mother, Audrey and Kerry, waited patiently for a carriage ride.

The free carriage rides were all aglow.

Santa was ho ho ho-ing in the village gazebo all evening long.

Thanks to the cold weather, the ice sculptures stayed all week long as a reminder of all that fun that was had at Light Up 2018.
