Indian Hill Boosters Celebrates Annual Hall of Fame Inductions

Friday, January 26 marked the occasion of Indian Hill High School’s 2018 Hall of Fame Inductions, which took place during half-time of the Boys’ Varsity Basketball Game against Reading.  Indian Hill Alum Tyer McMullen served as Master of Ceremonies as the following athletes were recognized for their leadership and athletic accomplishments: Gary Rogers, Class of 1989; Amanda Smith, Class of 2007; and Bo Cordell, Class of 2009.

At the conclusion of the game, family, friends and supporters joined the inductees for a special reception in the auditorium lobby, where they shared their perspective how their time at Indian Hill High School has shaped their futures.  Tyler McMullen did a superb job of asking thought-provoking questions that often elicited laughter from a standing-room-only audience.

Stated Gary Rogers, “I owe much of my success to the endless support of my parents.  My dad attended every game during my football career, regardless of where it was played.  My mom wrote many, many letters that encouraged me and motivated me to give my best in all areas of my life.” Amanda Smith echoed that sentiment, stating that her family members provided the most important support throughout her swimming career.  Bo Cordell added that “it’s important to remember that your parents always want the best for you, even if you can’t appreciate it at that point in time.”

Special kudos to the dedicated football coaches at Indian Hill who had the opportunity to work with Gary Rogers and Bo Cordell.  Many were on hand to savor the memories and re-connect with the generations of students whose lives they shaped.  Congratulations to all three athletes on receiving well-deserved honors!
