Dr. Bob Rhoad participates in a live jazz performance after the conference |
Dr. Rhoad, a life-long musician and percussionist, related
his career experiences in performance medicine and the challenges of treating
various high-level professional musicians with very specific needs for
continued success in their field. “With my musical background I appreciate the
unique concerns musicians face with medical and orthopaedic issues.
Understanding their instrument and their challenges helps to get them back to
their level of performance excellence.”
To the audience’s delight, the speakers then took the stage
together as a jazz quartet and played two jazz pieces to conclude their
program. The doctors proved their
commitment to treating their patients and their passion for music can combine
for excellent patient care.
